Professor Porter Bio:
Professor Amanda Porter attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania to complete
her Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. After completing her Bachelor's degree,
she was employed as a network and systems administrator for 6 years and occasionally
performed website design and development work. While working full-time, she completed
her Master's Degree in Computer and Information Science at Gannon University.
Professor Porter joined the Math and Computer Science Department in Fall 2016.
Professor Porter was instrumental in the curriculum development and execution of the
new Mobile Application Development course and newly modified Web and Mobile Application
Development program. She actively supports the students in the Math and Computer Science
Department by advising and overseeing the Computer Science Club and the Math and Computer
Science Women's Networking Group on campus. She is currently working toward a PhD in
Computer Science from Kent State University.
Aside from teaching and technology, Professor Porter has a strong passion for music and the outdoors.
She enjoys hiking, fishing, kayaking and camping when time and weather permits. She has been to over
50+ live concerts and continues to grow that number each year.
